Nils Franke

After initial studies with his father, Nils Franke held scholarships and awards at the Royal Academy of Music in London, the Royal Scottish Conservatoire and the University of Reading. His approach to the piano was influenced by Sulamita Aronovsky and Vovka Ashkenazy, and recorded performances of some of the great pianists in the earlier parts of the twentieth century have shaped his understanding of pianistic performance styles and traditions.

For the last 15 years, Nils Franke has combined university and conservatoire teaching with his own practice-informed work.
