After initial studies with his father, Nils Franke held scholarships and awards at the Royal\u00a0Academy of Music in London, the Royal Scottish Conservatoire and the University of\u00a0Reading. His approach to the piano was influenced by Sulamita Aronovsky and Vovka\u00a0Ashkenazy, and recorded performances of some of the great pianists in the earlier parts of\u00a0the twentieth century have shaped his understanding of pianistic performance styles and\u00a0traditions.<\/p>\n
